In this training, you’ll receive a strong foundation in the fundamentals of Hatha and Vinyasa yoga, along with practical tools to support your personal practice, your students, and your ongoing journey into a yogic lifestyle. You’ll learn how to integrate the philosophy and practices of yoga both on the mat and in everyday life, and how to teach safe, inclusive classes with confidence.

While this training will give you the knowledge and skills to teach yoga, its deeper intention is to support your own journey of practice and self-inquiry. Through this process, you will cultivate the presence and confidence that naturally shape an authentic teacher.
  • “If you are interested in becoming a teacher, or even simply deepening your yoga practice, look no further than Derya’s training. Not only does she focus on anatomy and poses, she dives deep into yoga history and philosophy as well as meditation, pranayama and self inquiry practices. I have walked away from this training with a newfound passion and appreciation of yoga, and a stronger connection with myself.”

A Multidisciplinary Approach

This training also draws from other fields of study and practices I’ve explored over the years. I’ll be sharing compatible insights from my studies in Advaita Vedanta, depth psychology, integration psychotherapy, along with learnings from plant medicine traditions I’ve experienced in the Amazon jungles of Peru and Colombia – all of which support a deeper, more holistic understanding of the yoga path.

argile 75492956

Trauma-informed

My approach is trauma-informed. That means you’ll first learn how to take agency in your own practice – and then how to hold space for your students to do the same. You’ll be encouraged to offer choices, modifications, and to create a practice environment where students are empowered to listen to their bodies and honor their individual needs and boundaries.

Small Group of Students

This training is offered in a small-group format. Historically, yoga was taught in an intimate setting, passed down directly from teacher to student. I believe in maintaining that sense of connection. That’s why this course is designed to be personal, spacious, and rooted in real-time communication (no pre-recorded material) and mentorship.

The Art of Intuitive Movement

Many students who begin my training say something similar: “I’ve been practising yoga for years, but now it feels like I’m doing it for the very first time.” This is because the training invites you to truly listen to your body. You will learn to bring awareness to the way you move, where movement comes from, what you are experiencing, and how your body responds. Alongside anatomical and technical understanding, you will be encouraged to develop your intuition: the ability to listen inwardly, sense what is happening, and respond accordingly.

The Art of Touch & Hands-On Adjustments

Another distinctive aspect of this training is learning how to read your students’ bodies and offer safe, appropriate hands-on assistance. Drawing from my 10 years of experience with Thai Yoga Massage, I’ll share the principles and practical techniques I’ve learned and show you how to bring them into your yoga classes with sensitivity, respect, and awareness.

The Art of Creating a Class

A key part of this process is learning how the postures within a class relate to and support one another, and how to organise them around a clear theme or energetic direction. Rather than simply putting poses together, you will learn to understand the logic behind sequencing; creating classes in which the poses, transitions, pace, and theme work together as a whole.

  • “This training beautifully combines the foundations of yoga with the joy of learning how to take care of yourself. It gave me the space to open up and grow at my own pace, without any pressure. Derya’s open and non-judgmental presence made a big difference to me. She doesn’t teach from a place of right or wrong, but invites you to explore what feels true and supportive for you, and that helped me stay open to my own process throughout the training. I’m deeply grateful for this time, which taught me above all to trust myself.”

One of the most distinctive aspects of this training is its timing. Spreading the course out over months is a very different experience to completing it in just a couple of intense weeks. Trying to absorb everything in such a short time and then expecting to start teaching right away is, in many cases, neither realistic nor fair. Learning how to practice and teach safely and understanding yogic philosophy takes time, reflection, and integration.

Before joining the training, I invite you to a brief introductory call to connect and make sure the training is the right fit for you.

  • “Derya is a deep, introspective thinker, asking questions that invite you to delve deeper into yourself and your relationship with the practice. She handles duality well – balancing soul and science. She was huge part of my training journey and it was one of the most transformative times of my life.”
    Hannah
  • “Derya combines ancient wisdom with modern neuroscience in a safe, supportive, and anatomically informed space. As the course progresses, students integrate what they learn by designing their own classes, explored together in an open and non-judgmental environment. Through self-inquiry, journalling, and embodied practice, the course explores the intelligence of the body, fascia, and the subtle energetic field. Each module invites reflection and direct experience, helping students release conditioning, deepen awareness, and reconnect with themselves.”
    Amanda
  • “Thank you for your kindness, your patience, and the space that you have created for so many women to explore not only yoga, but their connection to themselves and others. I am in awe of the community you’ve managed to bring together, offering us such a unique experience!”
    Hailey
  • “I especially love the way Derya presents the theory, history, and philosophy of yoga; it has become my favorite part of the training. For anyone who hasn’t completed a teacher training before, or who has only experienced a more Western-style approach, it may come as a surprise how much time and dedication a 200-hour certification requires. That said, I’m truly enjoying every moment. I’m so grateful that you created this incredible training program.”

A Soul-Centered Approach to Learning and Teaching

Soul-centered yoga goes beyond the physical aspects of the practice and connects us to our true nature in a more profound and transformative way. It invites us to dive deep within ourselves through different teachings and practices. It is inspired by Ramana Maharshi’s teaching of “self-inquiry” and Carl Jung’s “individuation process.” It’s a simple, yet deeply impactful approach.

A Community That Continues

Receiving your certificate is not the end of this journey. After the training, you’ll remain part of our graduate community, where we continue to meet, practice, reflect, ask questions, and support one another. Whether you’re teaching your first class or simply continuing your own practice, you’ll have a space to stay connected. Because learning doesn’t stop after 200 hours, and neither does the community.
